The Biometrics Institute is an independent not-for-profit membership organisation, founded in 2001 with funding from the Australian government. Its mission is to be a forum for biometric users and other interested parties and to facilitate the responsible use of biometrics. The European Biometrics Forum is an independent European organisation supported by the European Commission whose overall vision is to establish the European Union as the World Leader in Biometrics Excellence by addressing barriers to adoption and fragmentation in the marketplace. The forum also acts as the driving force for coordination, support and strengthening of the national bodies.

The association TeleTrusT was founded in 1989 to establish reliable conditions for the trustworthy application of information and communication technologies. TeleTrusT quickly developed into a well known competence network for IT Security whose voice is heard throughout Germany and Europe.
